Some people need to use power scooters, and many places aren’t well-equipped to allow that to happen. Stores may say they’re wheelchair accessible, only for you to later discover that “accessibility” means “me and the boys will try to lift your chair up this step if you really need it.”


While there are certain laws governing this sort of thing, compliance isn’t always the best — and even when a store technically meets the requirements, there can be other issues that wheelchair users encounter that can cause problems. For example, here, we have a door that doesn’t open fast enough (though, in fairness, it’s kinda on the dude in the scooter for not waiting).
