Not every new tech is made with everyone in mind. While A.I. is generally hit or miss, it’s really missing with Black users.

A recent trend on social media is using the Remini app to create an A.I. headshot to use on LinkedIn. TikTok creator, @mikefromdc decide to hop on the trend and was given a headshot. But not really of himself.

“This **** is not black people-friendly!”  he exclaims.

“Don't get me wrong, it produced a very good-looking picture, but that [man] don't look like me, “ he exclaims in the video.

In the A.I. headshots, Mike is three shades lighter in skin tone. And the other headshots produced gave him a durag even though he did not feed the A.I. any photos of him in a durag. The A.I. headshot looks more like the idea of @mikefromdc.

On the bright side, at least the durag and the tie match perfectly.

“We gotta normalize the combo durag tie. game changer” said one user in the comment section.

“I think the AI is trying to tell us that we should make durags professional attire,” said another user.

You can’t reveal waves in a professional environment! You can’t have the board members drowning.

After trying the A.I. myself, you can tell they use a select few models for people with ethnic features. Each photo is an entirely different curl pattern, I’m whitewashed, and they gave me large hoop earrings. May not be the best representation of myself on LinkedIn.

“I had so much faith as a [guy] that's not photogenic that I could just cheat the system. F- the system,” concludes @mikefromdc.
