The wait is over as the trailer for Elizabeth Banks' horror-comedy, Cocaine Bear has finally dropped. The Universal Studios production is already generating buzz not only because of its ludicrous plot, but it will be one of late actor, Ray Liotta's final roles following his death this past May.
So a bear gets high on cocaine. That's all we need to know. Already one of the most aggressive and protective creatures in the wild, a bear on cocaine would be something to see. That's where things get interesting. The movie is based on a true story.
In December of 1985 an American black bear ingested nearly 40 plastic containers of cocaine that had been dropped from an airplane. Long story short, the nickname "Cocaine Bear" was coined, and the rest is history.

The internet was quick to respond.
Quantumania and Cocaine Bear fighting it out in the February box office and I’m not even sure who’s gonna win.

I'll echo those sentiments on Twitter by saying I haven't been this excited for a ridiculously comedic horror movie since Snakes on a Plane. Needless to say, 2023 can't get here soon enough.
