If you’ve spent enough time online, you might have encountered self-described “clitoris advocate” Jessica Pin before; if you haven’t, brace yourselves.

Pin went viral on Twitter earlier this year for engaging in “vulva phrenology”; essentially, she took issue with transgender vulvas being included in a display designed to highlight how diverse vulvas can be. Pin is a “women’s health activist” who seeks to combat the normalization of cosmetic labiaplasties — a noble goal, until you realize she considers gender-affirming surgery to be “mutilation.” Her activism stems from her own experience with a botched labiaplasty that left her with severed nerves.

After blowing up on Twitter, Pin then made her way over to TikTok, where she can be found celebrating a trend “where women are showing their labia minora hanging down in a see-through dress.” If you’re wondering what trend that is, or how on earth it was allowed on TikTok, you’re not alone.

Pin was referring to the “sundress/see my lips” challenge, in which women would wear semi-sheer sundresses while being backlit by the sun, turning their dresses fully transparent and allowing the outline of their genitalia to be visible.

Pin praised this trend because, in her view, the “whole idea that the labia minora shouldn’t stick out is a fake beauty standard pushed for profit by female genital cosmetic surgeons” and the idea stems from “cultural suppression of female sexuality.”

While she’s not wrong, most people were primarily confused about the kinds of videos she’s been getting on her For You page. But considering her main area of interest, it sounds like the TikTok algorithm was once again dead accurate in showing her those videos while sparing the rest of us.
