Jiankui He is a controversial gene editing scientist in China who’s now become a Twitter influencer. He posts creepy selfies with insane captions like “Ethics is holding back scientific innovation” and “Tinkering with human embryos will surely be worth the risk.” They're written like sci-fi villain lines, but that’s just Jiankui being Jiankui. He’s a cartoonishly cold weirdo, and it’s equally fun and disturbing to watch him do his thing.

He also keeps requesting money for lectures, loves Texas, and sometimes just posts pics of him golfing. Every good villain has layers.
