People enjoy films for a wide variety of reasons. Some like complex, offbeat movies that nobody knows, and some like popular action movies with ten lines of dialogue.
Whatever the reason, all of us have unpopular opinions when it comes to movies. We went to r/AskReddit to find some truly unpopular movie opinions.

I'm low key really into sh*tty sword and sorcery movies (think Conan, only bad). I have a collection that's too big to list, but some notable ones are Deathstalker, Conquest, Beastmaster, The Barbarians, Ator, etc. I even have a barbarian themed home gym with a bunch of movie posters. They have a certain goofy charm to them that is understandably lost on most people. u/SpaceCowboy58 -

I hate it how every (main) character ends up in a relationship. -u/RadiantHC -
3.
Not all films have to be a deep commentary on social issues or have some serious important message. There’s nothing wrong with a shallow comedy or romcom. I miss movies like that. -u/Short_Gab -
4.
Boston accents in movies, every actor gets their d*ck so hard over doing a Boston accent. I can’t re watch the departed because of this. -u/Steek88 -
5.
Katie Holmes (playing Rachel) was a good character in Batman Begins. Replacing her in the second movie was a big mistake. Pnknlvr96 -
6.
Speed Racer is a great movie, both as an adaptation and a movie on its own. -u/The_GREAT_Gremlin -
7.
Most of the time sex scenes are put in for shock value or arousal more than necessity. -u/dishonourableaccount -
8.
Tron Legacy was alright. -u/GhastInTheShell -

If you as a director have to come out and explain something in a movie a week after it is released you did a shitty job with your movie. This mostly comes from articles that say something to the extent of "the Russo brothers explain what happened to black widow in this interview..." -u/Turbobrickx7 -
10.
Movies with non-stop action are boring. Action scenes should be used to punctuate the bigger story of the movie, they shouldn't be a substitute for story. -u/AreWeCowabunga -
11.
I enjoyed the Garfield movie. -u/ratchet0101 -
12.
Pixar is running out of ideas. Some of their movies that have recently released and that are coming soon just have some of the silliest and dumbest plots IMO. -u/Backst6age____ -
13.
Movies like Cool Runnings, Nacho Libre and Good Burger are superior to most blockbusters. -u/Nice_Entertainment91 -
14.
Deadpool is not Ryan Reynolds's best movie, and it has, unfortunately, locked a skilled and wide-ranging actor into a career as the shallow, snarky guy, which is a shame. Watch Safehouse or any of his pre-DP romcoms. -u/Casual-Notice -
15.
Waterworld should be remade. I think George Miller could make that world kick ass. -u/poopybuttfacehead -
16.
Over-reliance on the green screen has ruined action movies. Movies feel like a bunch of actors dancing in front of pretty pictures. You don't ever feel like characters are really in danger. -u/AlterEdward -
17.
Franchise movies are bad. The longer something goes on the more ridiculous it becomes. -u/DoctorDeath -
18.
I didn’t like “Joker” and I think it’s very far from a 10/10 film. -u/ConsciousTop3131 -
19.
Will Ferrell movies really aren’t that good, he plays the same character in almost every comedy he’s in: an adult child with different levels of vulgarity. -u/chstarr7 -
20.
Superhero movies have become boring. -u/Snoo74401 -

People nitpick movies too much. Plot holes generally aren't a big deal. The primary reason why I watch movies is to be entertained. -u/RadiantHC -
23.
Star Wars is just an American telenovela in space. No one is ever dead and everyone is somehow related. -u/InsertScreenNameHere -

The matrix 2 and 3 are great movies. -u/videoguylol -

I always say Interstellar has a stupid premise and people don't like to actually hear it. The VFX are great, the musical score is great, the science is accurate, the acting is good. But the entire plot derives from this hyper-top-secret NASA organization. With ultra-scarce resources and no second chances left, they put humanity's last hopes on a plan based on deception and lies which GREATLY jeopardizes the mission's risk of failure. -

The new Spider-Man gentrified the shit out of the source. Making Aunt May young and hot is a punch to the stomach of everyone who struggled with the medical bills of an elderly loved one. His average Joe financial problems, the thing that made his audience, are immediately gone because a billionaire likes him now. He became so unrelateable to his struggling broke audience that he completely lost his character core and they now throw in the "I don't know older music, I'm such a quirky zoomer lol" schtick to give him some semblance of a personality. -u/Allegutennamenweg
