Boomer memes are single-handedly keeping the Minion franchise alive.

For a lot of us, it feels like the internet's sense of humor has gone weird. Gen Z memes are steeped in irony so deep that they border on the surreal, nothing truly makes sense, and it can kind of get exhausting. But when you look at what Boomers are posting, Gen Z humor feels firmly based in reality.

We have sympathy for these silver-haired, internet-illiterate folks. It’s not their fault they’re lame online - memes and posting only came about during their twilight years so of course they’re bad at it. But every once in a while you come across a Boomer post that not even the most loving grandchild could approve of.

These people are posting horrific selfies, nightmarishly pixelated memes, and some of the most bizarre stuff AI has ever churned out that they all think is real. It’s sad, worrying, but undeniably funny.
