Some scientists never grew out of their indoor kid phase.

It’s really weird to think that anytime you see a plane, jet, or any other cool massive machine, it was constructed indoors by a bunch of guys in lab coats. Some things like rockets just seem too gargantuan to ever be housed, but it turns out labs have no size limit.

Here are some pics of scientists and engineers working away on giant metal leviathans. They’re flying planes inside massive wind tunnels, testing jet turbines underground, and climbing the sides of rockets like ants. There are also some machines here that we don’t even know the name or function of but they look cool, and that’s all that science is truly about.
