We tend to think of rocks as one of the more boring aspects of nature. They’re not living like plants and animals, they don’t freeze, flow, and wave like water. Rocks and mountains are seen as stagnant, immovable material that’s just there for other, more interesting things to sit on top of. But if you dig deep enough, you’ll find some rocks that’ll make you realize the weird kid in your class who collected minerals in a shoebox was actually onto something.
