Well, it was fake — but despite that, several publications actually went live with the story, with Jackson O'Doherty, the man in the photo, playing along on several news programs. Politicians were even asked about this. What a country, that Australia! Surely we’d never fall for something so stupid here!

Anyway, he’s now put out a video documenting exactly how he pulled off the ruse, and it’s pretty great.
