In May 2022, 15-year-old Ethan Soto was allegedly murdered by Victor Nathaneal Rivas, who headed to trial last fall. During the case, the purported killer made a gesture toward the grieving family, sparking an all-out melee in the courtroom.

After jumping over the rail, one of Soto’s relatives provided a (likely very well-deserved) beatdown to the alleged killer, three others joining in before the brawl was finally broken up by bailiffs.

“He is going to be bruised and swollen,” Rivas’ attorney said at the time.

We can only hope that justice can be served in both heartbreaking cases— hopefully this time, sans smackdowns.
