Teacher Says That Smartphones and iPads Have Ruined a Whole Generation of Kids
The iPad babies are now iPad elementary school students, and they can’t focus unless you’ve got Subway Surfers going.
We all know that there are many, many people who have been driven insane by their phones. In most cases, these people were adults, meaning their brains had reached (relative) maturity by the time they got their first Facebook notification.
But what about the younger generations? These are the kids who grew up with that constant stream of dopamine hits rather than having it later in life, so they’re a perfect test case to see what having unrestricted access to a smartphone does to your brain!
The answer? Well, according to this teacher, it basically cooks your brain from the inside. She says that kids these days can’t focus, can’t read, can’t do much of anything, really, apart from ask you if you have games on your phone.
Is this substantially different from attention-deficit scares of previous generations? I don’t know, and research appears presently uncertain of whether our attention spans are going down. But, I gotta say, it doesn’t feel good!
