In this season 6 scene Patsy Parisi and Burt attempt to extort a franchised coffee shop with no success. The manager explains to them that he has no authority to spend money without going through corporate HQ. As more and more mom and pop shops got replaced by chain stores, the real Mob found themselves losing out on their "protection" rackets.
